OmniVis awarded with prestigious NSF TECP grant

South San Francisco (September 2022) --- OmniVis has been awarded a Technology Enhancement for Commercial Partnerships (TECP) grant, a supplemental funding mechanism to OmniVis’ current National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award. The TECP grant enables OmniVis to commercialize their cholera detection innovation through developing strategic corporate and investor partnerships. Partnerships are a critical success factor for commercializing technology developed by small businesses like OmniVis. The TECP supplement grant will enable OmniVis to conduct additional research to meet the requirements of a corporate partner. Together, combined efforts will lead to completing commercial products and services for detecting a cholera causing pathogen in environmental water samples. Additionally, such efforts will allow a clear pathway toward detecting other waterborne pathogens in the near future. The support from the NSF will allow OmniVis to further test our cholera rapid detection solution in the field, in collaboration with our partners in South Sudan. With support from NSF, OmniVis will be ready for further commercialization of our products after this project.
