A Message from the Founder

“Growing up in California, often referred to as the "Salad Bowl of America," I was always a drive away to the bounty of fields that feed the nation. This proximity to vast agricultural landscapes instilled in me a deep appreciation for food and its journey from farm to table.

My personal connection to the impact of disease was seared into my memory when I was seven years old. My uncle, a vibrant individual who loved tennis, horseback riding, and taught me about gardening, was confined to his bed due to HIV. His passing came just before the advent of improved HIV management strategies, a bitter reminder of the critical timing in medical intervention.

This formative experience propelled me into my PhD research, where I specialized in developing new methods for rapid disease detection. I was struck by how traditional methods took days to identify pathogens in environments crucial to our wellbeing—from the very food we eat to the water we drink. This delay put communities at risk, echoing the delayed interventions that could have saved my uncle.

Determined to make a difference, I tailored my research to focus on proactive detection, leading to the founding of OmniVis. Our mission is clear: to empower everyone with advanced detection technologies, protecting communities and preventing the profound losses like those I witnessed.

With every step we take at OmniVis, I am driven by my roots in California’s fertile grounds and my early encounters with the vulnerabilities of health—striving to ensure that the beauty of our food's journey is matched by the safety and security it brings to people’s lives.”
